Sorority Greeting Cards

My daughter attends Elon University in NC. She is a member of the AZD sorority there and they are holding a fundraising Boutique on Parents Weekend. The charity they work for is "Autism Speaks" and they work very hard at it!

My daughter loves to send her friends cards I have made for her and they love receiving them. So I am making cards for most - maybe all of the sororities to send down for her to sell and raise money for "Autism Speaks". They are all done in the specific colors of each sorority. I have put the Greek letters on some also.

I am not able to attend in person but my daughter is going to "sit" at my table. I hope they have a very successful fundraiser!!!!

Wedding Scrapbook photos

I was asked to make a wedding scrapbook for a friend and wanted to share the photos I took of it. Hope you enjoy! The bride will be able to add the photos of her choice and will know the size they need to be printed at to fit on the pages. I hope she likes it! I had great fun making it.

My first altered cigar box

I have a friend whose daughter is being married this summer. So as a bridal shower gift I made her an altered cigar box and filled it with greeting cards. The idea was that it is a place for her to store stamps and cards and know where they are when she needs them. It's my little way of encouraging the next generation to continue writing and sending cards to friends and loved ones. Let me know what you think!

It was great fun and I have several more boxes so they will be altered also and for sale in my ETSY store soon.

10 Reasons I Love You

I enjoy scrap-booking both with paper and digitally using PhotoShop Elements. I hope to do more of the digital so that I can do a scrap-book about my parents for all their grandchildren. If I make it digitally I can have a copy printed for each of them.

Ali Edwards is a favorite scrap-booking teacher of mine. Currently I am taking an online class with her at Big Picture Classes about scrap-booking yesterday and today. She designs digital templates for scrap-booking that are sold at DesignerDigitals. I purchased the Love You Because layered template to make a book for my husband for Valentine's Day.

The picture below is the front cover of the book. It's a really fun project and could be used for a gift at any time as it is not specific to Valentine's Day in any way. You can do it for a child, a friend or your husband as I did. I know another blogger that did one for each of her children for this past Christmas.

Valentine's Day and "The Unknown Artist"

Valentine's Day is coming soon! These are some of the cards that will be in "The Unknown Artist" gallery in Annapolis later this week.

The Unknown Artist is a gallery in Annapolis about a block from West St. Chanel is the owner and she has gathered together the work of many artists in a cute little space. She is having art events for children once a month. Next time you are in the Annapolis area make sure to stop by and check it out.

Happy New Year and Valentine's Day is coming!

It's really 2011 already. Our family had a very special holiday season. Drew (23) is studying in Australia. He is in a masters of physical therapy program at University of Sydney. The rest of the family traveled to Sydney to spend Christmas with Drew. We spent 10 days there seeing the sights of Sydney, the Opera House, the beaches, and so much more. Part of the trip we traveled north to Cairns Australia where we snorkeled in the Great Barrier Reef and spent another day in a rain forest. It was amazing!
